Our Subscription Model

Imagine having a vet who knows your pet and is available anytime you need them. That’s what Vetline makes possible. We created Vetline to give New Zealand pet owners ongoing access to safe recommendations through accessible telemedicine. Instead of one-off consults, Vetline works on an annual subscription model, paid weekly or yearly, designed to keep your pets healthier year-round and to make vet bills more predictable.

Why We Use an Annual Subscription Model

Traditional vet visits often happen when something is already a concern. We wanted to change that.

By offering unlimited, proactive access to veterinary advice, you can ask questions early – before minor issues become major.

The annual format means:

  • Your vet gets to know your pets over time
  • You have peace of mind all year
  • You get consistent, professional advice without clinic wait times.

Vetline Plans: Basic and Comprehensive

  1. Basic Plan:

Perfect for confident pet owners who want expert support for everyday questions.

Includes:

  • Unlimited chat-based consults
  • Photo + video review for minor issues
  • Guidance on nutrition, behaviour, and preventative care
  • Help deciding when an in-clinic visit is necessary
  • Access to Vetline’s complete Resource Library

Best for: Those wanting answers for minor questions and concerns.

  1. Comprehensive Plan:

Designed for pet owners who want a closer Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship with their Vetline vet and more detailed oversight.

Includes everything in the Basic Plan, in addition to:

  • Unlimited scheduled video consultations
  • Annual at-home routine physical exam
  • Prescription support when appropriate and safe (VCPR compliant)
  • Chronic condition monitoring (e.g. allergies, arthritis, diabetes)
  • Second opinion and lab work review
  • Priority response times

Best for: Those wanting our home visit, prescription support and video consultations.

Fees, Payment, Cancellation & Refunds

Payment Terms:

Clients may choose either:

  • Weekly payments (52 week term) or
  • Annual upfront payment

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellation must be made at least one month prior to your annual billing date, or by the 48th week of your subscription if paying weekly.

No Refunds:

We do not offer refunds for any unused portion of the subscription. All services are delivered on an ongoing, scheduled basis and require forward planning, including allocation of veterinary resources.

How Your Vetline Subscription Works

  1. Subscribe for your chosen plan on our website
  2. Complete your pet profile – species, age, medical history
  3. Reach out to us on Signal, our secure chat platform
  4. If you’re on the Comprehensive Plan, we’ll arrange a time for your pets’ annual physical exam

That’s it! Then your chosen veterinarian will continue to get to know you and your pet, and you can reach out any time with questions or concerns.

You’ll get a renewal reminder before your year ends so your pet’s coverage never lapses.

What Vetline Is – and Isn’t For

Vetline is ideal for:

  • Deciding if an emergency visit or GP appointment is required or not
  • Everyday health questions
  • Advice raising young animals
  • Behaviour, diet, and wellness guidance
  • Early advice to catch problems sooner
  • Ongoing follow-up for known conditions

Vetline is not a replacement for emergency or surgical care.
